Chief Minister Shri Sai participated in the ‘Azadi Ki Dhun’ function organized by the Culture Department.

A live band performance by 100 young artists became the centre of attraction, with patriotic songs enthralling the audience.

The evening of the capital Raipur resonated with patriotic tunes today. In the ‘Azadi Ki Dhun’ function organized in collaboration with the Culture Department at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, 100 young artists from different regions of the state created a unique atmosphere of patriotism by giving a live band performance along with various musical instruments. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the function and encouraged the young artists. In this special program organized before Independence Day, the captivating presentation of patriotic songs filled the gathering with the feeling of patriotism.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the “Azadi Ki Dhun” organized on the occasion of Independence Day is a golden opportunity to spread the spirit of patriotism to the people and to remember the sacrifice, penance and dedication of the freedom fighters. “Azadi Ki Dhun” reminds us of the glory of history, makes us aware of our present duties and resolves to build a bright future. For the first time in Chhattisgarh, 100 young artists simultaneously performing patriotic tunes on different musical instruments is a unique effort in itself. He congratulated the Culture Department and all the artists for this innovative event.

The Chief Minister said that music has the amazing power to awaken emotions and unite people. During the Indian independence movement, songs, poems, and slogans played a crucial role in awakening the spirit of freedom among our countrymen. Patriotic songs boosted the morale of our revolutionaries and fighters under the most difficult circumstances and united millions of Indians towards the goal of independence. Even today, when patriotic tunes are heard, a sense of pride and dedication to the nation automatically awakens.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, remembering the immortal fighters of the freedom struggle, said that we achieved our country’s independence after countless sacrifices. Many revolutionaries sacrificed their lives for the motherland, thousands of fighters endured the harsh tortures of imprisonment, and millions of countrymen dedicated their all to the nation. The struggles of countless national heroes and freedom fighters, including Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Veer Savarkar, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, laid the foundation of independent India. Today, we are able to realize our dreams in a free environment, thanks to the penance, struggle, and sacrifice of our ancestors.

He said that independence is not just a celebration of rights, but also a pledge to fulfill our duties and responsibilities to the nation. We must always remember that it is our shared responsibility to protect this precious freedom, achieved through the struggle of millions of countrymen, to strengthen democratic values, and to lead the nation on the path of continued progress.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while mentioning Chhattisgarh’s glorious contribution to the freedom struggle, said that the state’s land also gave birth to many brave sons who fought against injustice and British rule. The immortal martyr Veer Narayan Singh challenged British rule for the rights of the poor and needy and made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. Bastar’s people’s leader Veer Gundadhur led the Bhumkal movement and raised the voice of the tribal community against British rule. The bravery and sacrifice of such great fighters is Chhattisgarh’s proud heritage.

The Chief Minister said that events like “Azadi Ki Dhun” especially connect the younger generation with the struggle for independence and its values. It is important for the new generation to understand that the independent India in which they are now realizing their dreams is the result of the struggle and sacrifice of many known and unknown fighters. Drawing inspiration from the ideals of freedom fighters and playing our part in nation-building will be a true tribute to them.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has pledged to the nation to make India a developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047. This pledge is not just the government’s, but the collective pledge of 1.4 billion countrymen. To make it a reality, every segment of society, especially the youth, will have to come forward with their energy, talent, and strength.

He said that the Chhattisgarh government is also working tirelessly towards building a ‘developed India’ with the resolve of a ‘developed Chhattisgarh’. Our endeavor is to ensure that the light of development reaches every village, every family, and every individual in the state, and that Chhattisgarh plays a significant role in the nation’s progress, in accordance with its potential and possibilities. He called upon the youth to contribute to the creation of a developed India and a developed Chhattisgarh by discharging their duties with a spirit of nation first.

Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his best wishes to the artists and youth participating in the event on the occasion of Hareli festival and extended his Independence Day greetings in advance. He said that this celebration of independence not only reminds us of our glorious past but also inspires us to resolve to build a bright future.

On this occasion, Ms. Mona Sen, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation, Mr. Shashank Sharma, President of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Academy, Mr. Anjay Shukla, Vice President of Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plant Board, Mr. Indrajit Singh Khalsa, Chairman of Scout-Guide, along with other public representatives, dignitaries, artists and a large number of youth were present.
