Police in Maharashtra’s Latur district have registered a case against Abhijeet Dipke, convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), and others for allegedly entering a government school without permission, obstructing official work and threatening teachers. The FIR was registered at Ausa police station based on a complaint by Sayyad Shamshadbanu Khairatali, 53, a teacher at Zilla Parishad Urdu School. According to the complaint, the incident took place at the school in Jawali, near Ausa, more than 500 km from Mumbai. Dipke has been visiting schools across Latur district to highlight their problems as part of the CJP’s ongoing ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign. Entered school without permission, questioned students According to the complaint, Dipke and his associates entered the school without permission, sat among the students and questioned them. The complaint alleges that their actions disrupted classes and obstructed government work. Dipke also reportedly recorded the incident and shared the video on social media. Accused of threatening teachers with suspension The complaint further alleges that Dipke made defamatory claims about the school, including that students from another school had been brought in and seated in its classrooms during his visit. He is also accused of threatening to have teachers suspended. FIR registered under four BNS sections Police have registered the FIR under Sections 132, 329(3), 351(2) and 356(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The sections relate to allegedly using assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from performing their duty, house-trespass, criminal intimidation and criminal defamation. Officials said further investigation into the case is underway.
