Sreeniwas Verma, IPS, 1997 Batch. Currently serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Narcotics Wing, PHQ Bhopal, with additional charge of ADG, Special Task Force (STF), Shri Verma is at the forefront of the state’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs. A highly decorated officer, he is a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service for his exemplary contribution to policing. A Career Defined by Excellence: A seasoned strategist with a clean image and sharp administrative acumen, Shri Verma is known for his result-oriented policing. His illustrious career includes pivotal tenures as SSP Bhopal, IG Rewa Range, and other critical field and headquarters assignments. After completing notable and highly sensitive central deputation stints – including serving as Joint Director at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and at the prestigious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad- he has returned to his parent cadre, Madhya Pradesh, bringing with him national-level investigative expertise. The Architect of MP’s Anti-Drug Campaign: As ADG Narcotics, he heads a specialized wing with statewide jurisdiction. The Narcotics Cell Police Station, Indore, which is notified as a special police station for the entire state for cases under the NDPS Act, functions directly under his command. At a time when drug trafficking has evolved into a complex inter-state and international network, his role is pivotal in: Dismantling Syndicates: Cracking down on organized drug cartels operating in MP’s border districts. Strengthening Conviction: Ensuring scientific investigation, timely FSL reports, technical evidence and watertight charge-sheets. National Coordination: Seamless coordination with NCB, CBI and police of other states. Leading the Elite Force: Commanding the STF, which handles the most sensitive, high-profile and challenging cases of the state.
