Respect, Safety and Empowerment of Women Form the Foundation of a Prosperous CG Says CM Shri Sai

Chief Minister Participates in ‘Raksha Bandhan Evam Behno Se Samwad’ Programme at Pandripani

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the ‘Raksha Bandhan Evam Behno Se Samwad’ programme at village Pandripani in Farsabahar development block of Jashpur district, where a large number of women tied Rakhi to him. The Chief Minister presented gifts to them and said that Raksha Bandhan is not only a festival of affection but also an occasion to reaffirm society’s responsibility towards the dignity, safety and secure future of women.

Interacting with the women, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the respect, safety and empowerment of women form the foundation of a prosperous Chhattisgarh. He said the State Government is working to ensure that women become economically self-reliant, receive equal opportunities to progress and play a stronger role in family and social decision-making.

Development Works and Mahtari Sadans

The Chief Minister dedicated and performed Bhoomi Pujan for development works worth nearly Rs 64 lakh in Pandripani, including the dedication of a Mahtari Sadan equipped with a meeting hall, training facilities, kitchen and toilets. He said the facility would provide women self-help groups with a dignified space for meetings, training and livelihood activities.

Shri Sai also announced the construction of Mahtari Sadans in Farsabahar and Bhelwa and informed that Rs 3.23 crore has been sanctioned for construction of a road from the main road to Dani Moda Basti.

Mahtari Vandan Strengthening Financial Confidence

Referring to the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the Chief Minister said the monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 is strengthening women’s financial confidence and helping them meet household and livelihood needs. He informed that more than Rs 631 crore had recently been transferred as the 31st instalment into the accounts of over 67 lakh women, with the September instalment released in advance ahead of Raksha Bandhan.

He said the government’s broader objective is to connect women’s skills with livelihood opportunities and strengthen their economic participation through self-help groups and other initiatives.

Self-Help Groups Receive Financial Assistance

During the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai presented cheques for financial assistance to women self-help groups. Mongra Self-Help Group, Bhagora; Vaishnavi Self-Help Group, Kandaibahar; and Chand Self-Help Group, Kandaibahar received Rs 1.50 lakh each, while Pratigya Group, Bada Basti received Rs 1 lakh.

The Chief Minister said women self-help groups are strengthening the rural economy and creating new avenues for self-employment and income generation.

Digital Services Making Governance More Accessible

Highlighting good governance initiatives, Shri Sai said more than 800 services of 37 departments are available online through Seva Setu, reducing the need for citizens to visit government offices repeatedly. He added that Atal Digital Seva Kendras are promoting financial inclusion in rural areas, while Chief Minister Helpline 1076 is facilitating prompt grievance redressal.

During the programme, passbooks under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana were presented to Meenakshi Yadav and Shreya Paikra. The Chief Minister said ensuring equal opportunities, safety and a secure future for girls remains a government priority.

He also distributed property rights documents under the SVAMITVA Yojana to five beneficiaries—Haravati of Bokhi, Jagmani of Wangaon, Rajmani of Konpara, Laxmi of Bhagora and Sumitra of Telain—providing them recognised documentary rights over their properties.

Pathalgaon MLA Smt. Gomati Sai said the Chief Minister has placed women’s dignity and economic self-reliance among the priorities of governance. She also thanked him for the opening of an SBI branch in Pandripani and said that Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has become ‘Vishnu Bhaiya’ to women across Chhattisgarh.

Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh, Zila Panchayat CEO Shri Abhishek Kumar, public representatives, officials and a large number of women were present on the occasion.
