Millions of people took to the streets in Iran on Friday at the government’s call. The rally in the capital Tehran was one of the government’s biggest since the war began. Many were wearing military uniforms and carrying Iranian flags. The government plans to provide these people with limited military training, including how to use assault rifles. They may then be deployed to help ensure the country’s security. These people are being trained to help with the country’s security. The Revolutionary Guard and the Basij militia are pro-government paramilitary organisations in Iran. They have been used to suppress anti-government protests.
