Millions take to streets after govt call in Iran:Biggest rally since war; 600,000 register for weapons training

Millions of people took to the streets in Iran on Friday at the government’s call. The rally in the capital Tehran was one of the government’s biggest since the war began. The people expressed their readiness to take up arms and undergo military training to defend the country. The government has named the campaign ‘Janfada-e Iran’. It means people who are ready to give even their lives for Iran. According to government officials, more than 6 lakh people have so far registered for military training. The head of the Revolutionary Guard claimed that the number of people undergoing training could exceed 10 lakh. More than 3 lakh people gather in Tehran According to the state broadcaster, more than 3 lakh people were present on Tehran’s streets on Friday morning. Many were wearing military uniforms and carrying Iranian flags. The government plans to provide these people with limited military training, including how to use assault rifles. They may then be deployed to help ensure the country’s security. These people are being trained to help with the country’s security. The Revolutionary Guard and the Basij militia are pro-government paramilitary organisations in Iran. They have been used to suppress anti-government protests. Rallygoers chant “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” President Masoud Pezeshkian, military commanders and senior government officials were also present at the rally. Twenty-four-year-old Marzieh Afaghi attended the rally with her young child and husband. She said that throughout history, no country had been able to attack Iran and occupy it for a long time.
