MP Bypoll Formality, Real Game In Delhi: Cabinet Berths Vacant, Delimitation Politics Heats Up Modi’s Tamil Nadu Masterstroke? L. Murugan Pulled Out Of Delhi To Lead BJP’s Dravidian Battle From Rajya Sabha To Grassroots: Why L. Murugan’s Resignation Is More Than Just A Bypoll – It’s 2026 Reshuffle Signal The Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sabha by-election will be held on November 12 following the resignation of Union Minister L. Murugan. Murugan stepped down to strengthen the BJP’s organization in Tamil Nadu. With a strong majority in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the BJP is expected to win the seat comfortably. His resignation is the third exit of a Minister of State from the Council of Ministers after George Kurien resigned in June and Ravneet Singh Bittu in July. Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and B.L. Verma, both from Uttar Pradesh, were not given Rajya Sabha tickets but continue in the Cabinet. This has intensified speculation over a major reshuffle in the Modi Cabinet. Sources also link the move to speculation around the Delimitation Amendment Bill, with the BJP reportedly seeking DMK support to allay concerns of southern states over representation. Nomination for the bypoll begins October 26, with voting and counting on November 12.
