Iran has declared the British Navy and Air Force terrorist organisations. It has also designated its intelligence agency, MI6, an enemy group. Iran’s Foreign Ministry announced this on Sunday. Iran accused Britain of helping the United States and Israel in the war against it. It also provided military bases and other facilities for this purpose. Earlier, on 13 July, Britain imposed strict sanctions on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), designating it a terrorist organisation. Under the sanctions, anyone in Britain who helps or supports the IRGC could face up to 14 years in prison. Iran has taken action in response to Britain’s decision. Iran warns: Britain will be responsible for the consequences Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the measures against Britain had been taken to ensure the country’s security. The ministry also warned that the British government would be responsible for any consequences of the decision. In March 2026, Britain allowed the United States to use its two military bases, RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia. According to Britain, the US could launch attacks from these bases targeting Iran’s missile sites and launchers. Britain described the move as an effort to defend its allies. Iranian military says it will give a befitting reply to US attack Iran’s military has also warned the United States that if it launches another attack, the war will not remain confined to West Asia. Several reports had said that the United States could attack Iran again on 4 November. Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, the military’s spokesperson, said Iran would give a befitting response to any US attack. He said the next war could last much longer than the previous one. Talks also continue on reopening the Strait of Hormuz Meanwhile, efforts to negotiate through Qatar are continuing despite tensions between Iran and the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had said that if the United States accepted Iran’s conditions, Tehran could consider a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days. Iran’s conditions include lifting the sanctions and reducing the US military presence in the region. Meanwhile, Iran’s top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, has said that there will be no talks until Tehran’s seven demands are met. Iran’s three major demands in talks with the US Restore the exemption to sell oil: Iran wants the US to restore the exemption that previously allowed it to sell oil. Lift economic sanctions: The US sanctions imposed on Iran should be lifted to provide relief to its economy. Return the $6 billion deposited in Qatar: Iran wants the nearly $6 billion held in Qatar to be returned to it.
