You can change travel date in confirmed rail ticket: No extra charges will be applied, claim – new system will be implemented from January 2026 Now you can change the travel date in your confirmed rail ticket and you won’t have to pay any cancellation fee or extra charge for this. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave this information to NDTV on October 7. He said that from January 2026, passengers will be able to change confirmed tickets to future dates. However, there will be no guarantee of a confirmed ticket when changing the date in this process. Seats will be available based on availability only. 2. Now make UPI payments with face, fingerprint: Government approves new features, PIN was required for payment till now UPI users will now be able to make payments through face and fingerprint. The central government on October 7, approved the new biometric features of NPCI, the agency operating UPI. RBI Deputy Governor T Rabi Shankar had announced this at the ongoing Global Fintech Event in Mumbai, which UPI apps will soon add. After this, PIN requirement for UPI payments will become optional. NPCI says this new method will make UPI payments more convenient, secure and user-friendly. 3. EPFO may increase minimum pension under EPS to ₹2,500:It will likely decide on the hike from current ₹1,000 on Oct 10-11 The minimum pension of ₹1,000 per month under the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) could increase to ₹2,500. A decision on this may be taken in the meeting of EPFO’s Central Board of Trustees (CBT). This meeting is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on October 10-11. Gold moves close to ₹1.20 lakh mark per 10 grams:Rates up nearly ₹44,000 YTD; silver crosses ₹1.49 lakh per kg Gold and silver prices reached an all-time high on October 7, 2025. According to the India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by ₹718 to reach ₹1,19,967. Meanwhile, silver became costlier by ₹605 to reach ₹1,49,438. 5. 2025 TVS Raider 125 Bike Launched in India: Disc Brake with Single-Channel ABS for Safety, Starting Price of ₹93,800 TVS Motor India has launched two new updated models of its popular commuter bike Raider in the Indian market.
