In Multai, Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, five people have been arrested in connection with Thursday evening’s clash between two communities, with cases registered against 30 individuals. Betul SP Virendra Jain suspended two sub-inspectors for negligence, while the station in-charge was already line-attached. Section 144 has been imposed in the city. The clash in Multai began after some individuals assaulted Shishupal Yadav, the district pracharak of the RSS. This led to a commotion as members of two communities confronted each other on the road, resulting in a fierce fight. Police intervened, separated both sides, and restored calm. Upon receiving information about the incident, Collector Narendra Suryavanshi and ASP Kamla Joshi also arrived in Multai. Additional police force was also called from Pandhurna. The protestors were advised. Late at night, the administration imposed Section 163 in the city. This section is enforced to maintain peace and order. Police force deployed, schools closed
Security has been tightened across Betul district. Police from nearby stations, including Amla, Athner, Prabhat Pattan, and Betul, have been deployed in Multai, covering main roads and sensitive areas. RSS Pracharak Shishupal Yadav stated, I had gone out on my motorcycle around 5:30 PM, when Shahrukh, Shohel, Abid, and Junaid blocked my way, verbally abused, and attacked me and my companions. He attacked with a sword, snatched Bhavani’s gold chain, and threatened to kill us. I demand action. Police have registered a case of assault against Shahrukh, Shohel, Abid, Junaid, Altaf Khan, Himanshu, Failej, Sahil, Akbar Ali, Shoaib, Sufiyan, Hamzar, Anas, and Avesh on the complaint of the RSS Pracharak. ​
