A 34-year-old widowed woman from Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh, reached Morena searching for her 21-year-old lover she met on Facebook. Late Thursday evening, she lay unconscious for about two hours in front of the Station Road police station, but the police initially ignored her. After locals informed the police control room, officers arrived and sent the woman, a mother of two daughters, to a women’s reform home. This is the same woman who visited Morena in September to marry her lover, Sachin Pachauri. At that time, Sachin’s family had agreed to the marriage and kept her in a hotel, but fled with the entire family during the night after locking their house.
