The School Education Department has made e-attendance mandatory for all teachers in the state, and most teachers are complying with it. Meanwhile, Jyoti Pandey, a teacher posted at Government Higher Secondary School, Maharajpur in Jabalpur, was served a notice by the principal for not marking e-attendance. But the teacher’s reply surprised everyone. Jyoti Pandey said in her reply sent via WhatsApp, The mobile is mine, the data is mine, and it contains everything from bank accounts to family photos and private documents. In such a situation, I cannot give access to a third-party app. She says that the government has not provided a mobile or SIM, and downloading an app on her personal mobile to mark attendance increases the risk of data theft and cybercrime. Notice sent to 4 school teachers Based on information received from the senior office, the school principal issued a notice to the teachers asking why they were not marking their attendance on the “Hamare Shikshak” (Our Teachers) app, even though it has been made mandatory by the government. Notices were sent to four female teachers of the school, out of which three cited technical reasons. On October 21, Jyoti Pandey’s response was the most unique. Teacher Jyoti Pandey wrote in her reply, Teachers’ Union Extended Support Bharat Patel, the state president of Azad Adhyapak Sangh (Free Teachers’ Union), supported the teacher’s response, stating that it was completely appropriate. He alleged that incidents of data theft and cyber fraud have come to light through the e-attendance app. Money has been withdrawn from many teachers’ bank accounts, and unwanted calls are also received through the app. Patel suggested that the government should provide an alternative method for teachers to mark their attendance, so that they do not have to use their personal mobile phones. District Education Officer said – no information about the notice District Education Officer Ghanshyam Soni said, “I currently have no information about this notice, but it is certain that government orders must be followed in all circumstances. The government has made rules regarding e-attendance, which most teachers are following. An appropriate decision will be taken soon in this matter.” Post navigation BMC Commissioner Sanskriti Jain Said Same Waste Management Protocol Would Followed On Upcoming Ekadashi As BMC Manages Over 100 Tonnes Of Firecracker Waste Post-Diwali BJP leader’s house targeted over garbage dispute:CMO said in retaliation, ‘You threw waste here, so I am throwing garbage into your house’
