Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the regular operation of the State Hangar located near Mana Camp in the premises of Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister departed for his Gujarat visit from this hangar itself. With this initiative, the inconvenience faced by general passengers at the main passenger terminal during VVIP movement will now come to an end. The commencement of the State Hangar will make the arrangements for arrival and departure of VVIPs by special aircraft in the state more smooth and organized. It is noteworthy that the State Hangar was constructed in the year 2012 by the Public Works Department (PWD) at a cost of approximately ₹6.50 crore. However, the necessary approvals from DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) were obtained only recently on 31 October 2025. After receiving these approvals, the regular operation of the hangar has now begun. The newly operational State Hangar has been connected to the airport runway via Taxiway ‘E’, which will allow smoother VVIP movement and eliminate the need to make separate arrangements within the airport premises. The hangar will also be used for the maintenance of state-owned aircraft and helicopters. This will reduce dependency on the rented state hangar located inside the airport premises. On this occasion, MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, Mana Camp Nagar Panchayat President Shri Sanjay Yadav, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri Rahul Bhagat, Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Suraj Sahu, and other public representatives and senior officials were present.
