In Morena, a farmer first complained about corruption and, after no action, filed an RTI for information. Angered, ASI Kamlesh Kumar Jatav of Chinnoni police station called him to the station, abused him, and threatened jail. A video has surfaced showing the ASI using abusive language and threatening to file a case against the farmer. After this, he sought information by filing a Right to Information application. In this very matter, on Monday, the ASI called the farmer and his family to the police station and threatened them. The ASI says, Don’t act smart, this is not your Sarpanch-Secretary. I will kick you inside. You want to become a leader, Pan Singh, I am explaining to you. The ASI also asked why he had taken so many people to the Sarpanch’s house, while the farmer stated that he had gone alone, and people gathered later on their own. Allegation of collusion between police and Sarpanch Farmer Pan Singh Rawat alleges that the ASI is colluding with the Sarpanch, saying, ‘When I complain, the Sarpanch and police pressure me together.’ Station In-charge SI Shambhu Dayal Batham said the village has a dispute over the Panchayat building construction. He confirmed the ASI used harsh words and has been advised to behave politely.
