A total of ₹5.97 crore was directly transferred today into the bank accounts of 29,840 farmers of the GPM district under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. This amount has been released by the Ministry of Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, as part of the 21st installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. At the state-level event held in Dhamtari in the presence of Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, 24,70,640 farmers across Chhattisgarh received a combined benefit of ₹494.12 crore. Owing to the farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government, farmers in the state continue to receive the benefit of paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, with permission for procurement of 21 quintals per acre. In the previous Kharif year, Chhattisgarh recorded a historic procurement of 149 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. In addition to the Minimum Support Price (MSP), an amount of ₹29,036 crore has already been directly transferred to 25.49 lakh farmers under the Krishi Unnati Yojana. In just 22 months, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, over ₹1.25 lakh crore has been transferred directly into the accounts of farmers in Chhattisgarh.
