Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai presided over the grand closing ceremony of the CM Trophy All India Football Championship held in Kharora, Raipur district, and made several important announcements for the development of the region. He announced the acceleration of construction work on the Samoda Barrage, along with the construction of a bypass road and a Gaurav Path in Kharora. The Chief Minister said he was pleased to be part of the fifth edition of the CM Trophy organized by the Johar Sangwari Football Association. He stated that hosting a national-level sporting event in a region like Kharora is a matter of pride and provides local talent with opportunities to progress. He welcomed teams from various states and congratulated the Ramakrishna Mission team from Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, for winning the championship after defeating 16 teams from nine states. He also congratulated the runner-up team, PFC Kerala, and encouraged them to continue rigorous practice. Chief Minister Shri Sai appreciated the commendable work being carried out by Ramakrishna Mission in remote and Naxal-affected areas in the fields of social welfare, education, and sports development. In his address, the Chief Minister said that approximately Rs. 400 crore worth of development works have been carried out in the Dharsiwa Assembly constituency over the past two years, and he praised the active efforts of MLA Shri Anuj Sharma. He reiterated that the state government is fully committed to the holistic development of sports. The sports award ceremony, which had remained discontinued, was resumed immediately after the formation of the government. Talent is being nurtured from village levels, and sports grounds are being constructed as required under the Khelo India scheme. He informed that the Bastar Olympics were launched last year and that the number of participants has doubled within two years. He added that international cricket matches are being held regularly in the state and that discussions are underway to host two IPL matches in Chhattisgarh. Addressing the gathering, Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma congratulated both the winning and runner-up teams and encouraged teams that did not succeed this time to continue their hard work and dedication. He expressed gratitude for the development and public welfare initiatives undertaken by the Chief Minister over the past two years and stated that under his leadership, Chhattisgarh aims to be counted among the leading states of the country. MLA Shri Anuj Sharma stated that this was the fifth edition of the CM Trophy and that it will now be organized permanently in the name of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He added that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, Chhattisgarh is becoming the fastest state in the country to fulfill its election manifesto. The revival of sports awards, the Bastar Olympics, and the continuous hosting of international matches at the international cricket stadium reflect this progress. At the event, the winning players were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh along with the CM Trophy. Other players were also honored. Several public representatives, distinguished citizens, and a large number of spectators were present on the occasion.
