Use IT to Maximize Public Benefit One-Day Workshop of Information Science Officers on Information Technology Concludes Chief Secretary Shri Vikas, addressing a one-day workshop on emerging information technologies at Mantralaya, Mahanadi Bhawan, stressed that all necessary new IT tools must be used to ensure citizens get maximum and timely benefits from government schemes. Chief Secretary Mr Vikas Sheel urged making information and communication systems citizen-centric and easy to use, including government programmes, mobile apps, and websites. “Detailed discussions were held on using information technology for citizen services and to quickly deliver benefits of flagship schemes to beneficiaries,” he said. Key highlights from the workshop: CS Vikas Sheel Call for Updation: The Chief Secretary Mr Vikas Sheel asked NIC officials to stay updated with new IT. With modern technology, beneficiaries should get faster access to governance schemes. Resource Review: Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Shri Ankit Anand reviewed the availability and requirements of resources and equipment at State-Level Information Centres and District Informatics Centres. Expert Sessions: Shri Dayanand Saha, DDG, National Informatics Centre Headquarters, New Delhi, said various innovative IT solutions can be used to deliver government services to citizens. AI & Cyber Security: Prof. Om Prakash Vyas, Director and Vice Chancellor of IIIT, gave comprehensive information on the use of AI. Shri Shrikant Pandey, Joint Director, NIC Chhattisgarh, Joint Director Abhijit Kaushik, Upendra Singh and other IT experts also addressed sessions on cyber security and other technologies. The workshop was attended by District Informatics Officers from various districts, officials of the State Level Informatics Centre, and state-level NIC officers.
