An obscene video was played during a virtual hearing at the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, while a bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Khariya was in session. At around 12:56 pm, a pornographic clip suddenly began playing, prompting an immediate suspension of proceedings. When the hearing resumed a few minutes later, the video was played again. The disruption was traced to a user logged in under the name Kshitijjit Singh. The same individual subsequently displayed a message on screen stating, “Your system has been hacked”, and later interrupted proceedings for a third time by playing music. The repeated disruptions forced the Chief Justice to terminate the virtual hearing. A complaint has since been lodged with the IFSO unit of Delhi Police. Kshitijjit said – the account was hacked from US During initial questioning, Kshitijjit Singh claimed that his account was hacked from the United States and that he had no knowledge of how the pornographic video was played during the hearing. In fact, more than 100 public interest litigations (PILs) were being heard on Wednesday, and this matter came to light during that time. Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay stated that the necessary instructions were issued to the Registrar General at the administrative level. Recording court proceedings is against the rules. If anyone recorded the proceedings, action will be taken. Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma informed the court that similar incidents have occurred during virtual hearings in other courts, noting that such disruptions undermine the dignity of judicial proceedings.
