Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Inspects Strategic Infrastructure Project, Says Reaching Remote Areas Remains Government’s Highest Priority Modern Bailey Bridge on Bijapur-Puwarti Route Gives Fresh Momentum to Connectivity and Regional Development Regions once hindered by difficult terrain and limited accessibility are now witnessing the dawn of new opportunities through modern infrastructure development. As part of the statewide Sushasan Tihar initiative, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today visited Kondapalli village in the remote forested region of Bijapur district and inspected the newly constructed Bailey Bridge on the Bijapur-Puwarti road corridor. During the visit, he reviewed the bridge’s construction technology, utility and contribution to regional development, describing it as a symbol of the transforming face of Bastar. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that roads, bridges and other basic infrastructure are not merely construction projects, but vital links that connect remote communities with education, healthcare, employment and the mainstream of development. He reiterated that the State Government’s objective is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society. Faster Construction, Lower Cost and Greater Durability Constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the Bailey Bridge forms a significant component of the Bijapur-Puwarti road project. Officials informed the Chief Minister during the inspection that Bailey Bridges are more economical, durable and resilient than conventional bridges. Such bridges can reportedly be built at nearly one-fifth the cost of traditional structures and completed within a month, making them highly effective for establishing swift connectivity in remote and sensitive regions. Twenty-One Bailey Bridges Accelerating Development in Bijapur Notably, as many as 21 Bailey Bridges have been constructed in Bijapur district so far. These structures have considerably improved connectivity to remote villages and eased access to transportation, healthcare, education and other essential public services. The bridges are serving as important catalysts in expanding development and strengthening citizen-centric services across the region. Chief Minister Shri Sai also appreciated the dedication and hard work of labourers involved in the project, stating that the State’s workers and youth are the true architects of Chhattisgarh’s development journey. He interacted with the workers, encouraged them and listened to their experiences. A New Identity of Bastar Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that infrastructure expansion in Bastar is opening the doors to new possibilities and aspirations. He remarked that the Bailey Bridge at Kondapalli is not merely a physical structure, but a powerful symbol of development, trust and good governance. It reflects the emergence of a new Bastar, where the benefits of progress are steadily reaching even the most remote and inaccessible regions, bringing positive changes to people’s lives.
