“The Name ‘Sadanira’ Itself Brings Joy; Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign Will Ensure Abundant Water Reaches Every Village”: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the Sadanira Samagam organised by Veer Bharat Nyas under the Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh, on Monday.

Addressing the programme, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that water holds special significance in Indian culture and no religious ritual is considered complete without it. Citing Rahim’s famous couplet, he said that water is not only the basis of life but also the core element of culture and civilisation.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extensive water conservation campaigns are underway across the country, and Madhya Pradesh is playing a leading role in this field. He informed that work has been completed on nearly two lakh water structures in the state, while a large number of other projects are in progress. The state government is spending thousands of crores on water conservation and lakhs of Jal Mitras have been associated with this campaign.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is the origin of several important rivers, and the state’s rivers naturally play a vital role in water conservation and ecological balance. Referring to the challenges of water crisis, climate change and shifting weather cycles, the CM emphasised the need for scientific management of water resources.

Dr. Yadav said that Indian culture is based on the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, and the message of water conservation is important not only for the country but for all of humanity. Citing the Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking projects, he said these schemes will prove crucial in strengthening water management in the future.

Concluding the programme, the Chief Minister congratulated the organisers for the successful conduct of Sadanira Samagam and called for making water conservation a mass movement. He said the resolve of ‘Jal Hi Jeevan Hai’ will ensure a secure future for coming generations.

Hon’ble CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said this conclave has emerged as an important medium to raise societal awareness about water conservation.

On the occasion, Veer Bharat Nyas Trustee Secretary Shri Ram Tiwari welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a memento and bouquet. The programme was attended by representatives from various countries, including Shri Jagannath Sami, High Commissioner, Republic of Fiji; Shri Evagoras Vryonides, High Commissioner, Cyprus; Ms. Vanessa Adriane, Head of Culture, Embassy of Mexico; along with Hon’ble Minister of State for Public Health & Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, DG of MP Council of Science & Technology Dr. Anil Kothari, and Shri Ashok Vishwal from Central Ground Water Board, Government of India.

Delivering the welcome address, Veer Bharat Nyas Trustee Secretary Shri Ram Tiwari said that Madhya Pradesh is today creating a new identity in the field of water conservation. The Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, run under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, has become an outstanding example of public participation. He said that along with the conservation of thousands of ponds, wells, stepwells and riverbanks, a sense of sensitivity and responsibility towards water is developing in society.

The seven-day Sadanira Samagam at Bharat Bhavan saw participation from diplomats of various countries, environmental experts, academicians, litterateurs and artists. Meaningful dialogues were held on subjects like the Panchamahabhutas and environmental protection, which are being documented.

Shri Tiwari said the corporate sector is also keen to collaborate on water conservation, culture, agriculture, cow protection and heritage preservation. Foreign delegates at the conclave appreciated the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan and expressed interest in cultural coordination.

On the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister also unveiled the Groundwater Atlas – Antarjali Yatra for Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior, prepared by the MP Council of Science & Technology, Veer Bharat Nyas and ISRO. This document will provide scientific information related to groundwater conservation and management across various districts of the state.
