The State Level Sanction and Monitoring Committee meeting for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and PMAY-Urban 2.0 was held today at Mahanadi Bhawan, Mantralaya, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel.

The Chief Secretary directed SLBC bank officials to simplify the loan process for the beneficiary share under PMAY so that eligible beneficiaries can construct houses quickly. He also instructed Urban Administration Department officials to organise special camps to facilitate bank loans for beneficiaries whose houses have been sanctioned under PMAY 2.0. Notably, under PMAY, Central and State share amounts are given to beneficiaries.

The meeting held detailed discussions on sanctioning projects under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of PMAY-Urban 2.0. Discussions were also held on approving necessary modifications to beneficiary entries recorded on the Government of India’s MIS portal for projects sanctioned under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component of PMAY-Urban.

On completing the house within the stipulated time and performing Griha Pravesh, the State Government will transfer an additional Rs 32,850 per house to the beneficiary’s account under the Mukhya Mantri Griha Pravesh Samman Yojana. The State Government also provides Rs 6,150 per house towards DPR and PMC charges.

For PMAY-Urban 2.0 under the BLC component, projects worth Rs 410.35 crore have been proposed for sanction across 144 urban local bodies. This covers new house construction for 10,549 beneficiaries, comprising Rs 158.23 crore Central share, Rs 146.63 crore State share, and Rs 105.49 crore beneficiary contribution.
