Maruti Suzuki on June 15 launched India’s first flex-fuel car, the WagonR Bioflex. The new WagonR is capable of running entirely on E85 fuel (85% ethanol-mixed petrol). The WagonR Bioflex has been introduced in two variants. Its starting price has been set at ₹7.24 lakh. The car can currently be purchased by people in the commercial sector such as taxis and fleets. Up to ₹2.25 lakh more expensive than commercial model cars It is based on the top variant ZXi+ MT of the standard WagonR and there are no changes in its design, but several mechanical updates have been made to make it compatible with E85 fuel, which is why it is ₹86,000 more expensive than the standard model. Meanwhile, compared to the WagonR Tour H3 already available in the commercial segment, the flex-fuel version will be ₹1.35 lakh to ₹2.25 lakh more expensive. The WagonR Tour H3 is priced between ₹4.99 lakh and ₹5.89 lakh.
