Ravi Mittal hails from Katarmal Mohalla in Chandpur, a small town in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. He was born on 13 June 1993. Ravi Mittal’s father KC Mittal is a renowned physician. Other members of his family are also involved in the medical profession.

Ravi Mittal studied up to Class X from Fatherson Public School in Chandpur. He did his further studies outside the district. After higher secondary, he passed the MBBS examination from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi. Ravi Mittal appeared in the UPSC exam in the final year of MBBS itself. Dr Ravi Mittal prepared for UPSC by self-study without any coaching. And by securing 61st rank in his very first UPSC attempt, he cracked UPSC and became an IAS officer.
