In the holy month of Shravan, the capital city of Raipur was seen drenched in the devotion of Lord Bholenath today. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the grand Kanwar Yatra organized at Maruti Mangalam premises in Gudhiyari. Chief Minister Shri Sai performed Rudrabhishek and worship of Lord Shiva as per the rituals and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, peace, well-being of Chhattisgarh and the welfare of the people of the state. While encouraging the Shiva devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra, he wished everyone a happy Shravan month.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the month of Sawan is a special occasion for the worship and devotion of Lord Shiva. During this holy month, the Kanwar Yatra is a unique expression of our faith, devotion, and dedication. Thousands of Shiva devotees set out on foot carrying holy water to perform the Abhishekam of Lord Shiva. The enthusiasm and devotion of Shiva devotees during the arduous journey reveals the power of faith inherent in Sanatan culture.
The Chief Minister said that thousands of Kanwariyas, carrying holy water, departed from the Maruti Mangalam complex in Gudhiyari to perform the Jalabhishekam of Lord Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev at Mahadev Ghat. The chants and devotion of the devotees of Shiva filled the entire atmosphere with Shiva. This event is not only a religious pilgrimage but also a celebration of our culture, tradition, and social unity.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while mentioning the historical, religious, and cultural significance of the Lord Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple, said that this temple is a major center of Chhattisgarh’s ancient Shiva worship tradition. The people of the state have deep faith in Lord Hatkeshwarnath, seated at Mahadev Ghat. Especially in the month of Shravan, a large number of devotees reach here and perform Jalabhishek and worship of Lord Shiva.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that Chhattisgarh is as much known for its natural beauty and folk culture as it is for its deep spiritual traditions. The ancient Shivadhams and Shaktipeeths located in different regions of the state bear witness to our rich religious and cultural heritage. Its festivals, celebrations, and religious pilgrimages keep society connected to its roots and traditions.
He added that religious events like the Kanwar Yatra are an important medium for introducing the new generation to our culture, traditions, and spiritual values. Such events bring together people from all walks of life, strengthening the spirit of mutual harmony, social unity, and cohesion. This spirit of service, cooperation, and collectivism is the hallmark of Chhattisgarh’s culture.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that preserving and promoting our religious and cultural heritage is our collective responsibility. The state government is continuously working towards the development of the state’s major religious and spiritual sites and expanding better facilities for devotees. This is not only giving a new identity to our centers of faith, but also expanding the possibilities of religious tourism.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while extending his best wishes to all the devotees of Lord Shiva participating in the Kanwar Yatra, prayed to Lord Shiva for the continued progress of the state. He said that the blessings of Lord Shiva should always remain on Chhattisgarh and its people. May every family receive happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being, and may our Chhattisgarh continue to progress on the path of development and public welfare.
