Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana provides free quality education to talented children of labourers from class 6th to 12th in reputed private residential schools. The Chief Minister honored talented children from labour families, shared a meal with them and shared his life experiences. The Chief Minister told the children to dream big, work hard and move forward with a resolve to serve the country and the state. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said this while addressing the felicitation ceremony of Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana organized at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur today. At the function, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai interacted cordially with the children studying under the scheme and encouraged them by honouring the students who had excelled in education, sports, arts and co-curricular activities. During the programme, assistance amounting to more than Rs 39 crore 67 lakh was transferred directly to the bank accounts of 1 lakh 45 thousand 841 labourers through DBT under various labour welfare schemes. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is heartening to see children from working class families today in neat uniforms, communicating confidently in English, and excelling in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities. Their confidence is proof that if given the right opportunities and a good education, no circumstance can stop talent from advancing. He said that the Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana was launched last year with 100 children. This year, it has been expanded to include 200 children who have been given the opportunity to study in prestigious private residential schools. Talented students selected from all 33 districts of the state are receiving free, quality education from grades 6th to 12th at prestigious schools such as Rajkumar College, Delhi Public School, and Rungta Public School. The Chief Minister said that educating children in schools was once a difficult dream for working class families, but today the state government is making that dream a reality. The Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana is not just a scheme to ensure children get admission into good schools, but an initiative to provide them with a better environment, self-confidence, and equal opportunities to fulfill their dreams. The hard work of workers lays a strong foundation for development. Saluting the contribution of workers in building the state and the country, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the hard work of workers is behind many development infrastructures, from tall buildings in cities to roads in villages, and from large bridges to other development projects. It is the government’s responsibility to ensure security, respect, and prosperity in the lives of workers and their families who contribute to nation-building. He said that 67 schemes for the welfare of workers are being implemented through the three divisions of the Labor Department. These include schemes providing assistance at various stages of life, including education, health, maternity assistance, disability assistance, pension, skill development, employment, and housing. The government is ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach eligible workers in a transparent manner, and that the assistance amount is deposited directly into their bank accounts. Referring to the efforts being made under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to protect the social and economic interests of the workers, the Chief Minister said that along with strengthening the social security of the workers, continuous work is being done towards providing better opportunities of education, health and employment to their families. The key to education development is that circumstances cannot stop the path forward. Chief Minister Shri Sai, during a cordial conversation with the children, shared his life’s struggles and experiences. He told the children that no matter the circumstances in life, they can move forward with the power of education, hard work, and determination. He urged the students to dream big now and decide in which field they want to serve the country and the state in the future. He said that some aspire to become doctors, others engineers, scientists, or administrative officers, while others pursue business, social service, or other fields. Whatever the goal, education is a solid foundation. Therefore, children should take full advantage of this opportunity and move forward with discipline, hard work, and confidence. The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh today has prestigious national-level institutions for higher education, such as IIT, IIM, and AIIMS. Arrangements are also being made for children from working-class families, such as loans for higher education and assistance for studying abroad. The government wants to ensure that financial circumstances do not hinder the education and dreams of any talented child. New doors of education and development are opening even in Naxal-affected areas Chief Minister Shri Sai said that since the formation of Chhattisgarh, Naxalism has been a major obstacle to the state’s development. The leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the coordinated efforts of the double-engine government, and the indomitable courage of the security forces have achieved decisive success against Naxalism. Areas where access to education and development was once difficult are now opening doors to new opportunities. He stated that important initiatives such as the Education City are being undertaken in Orchha and Jagargunda. The government’s goal is to ensure that children in remote areas of the state, including Bastar, receive the same quality education and opportunities for advancement that are available to children in larger cities. The Chief Minister said that by embracing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas” as its goal, the Chhattisgarh government is connecting every segment of society to the mainstream of development. To fulfill the commitment to make India a developed nation by 2047, it is essential to provide education and development opportunities to every individual in society. Providing excellent education to children from working class families is an important step in this direction. Over Rs 774 crore assistance transferred to workers’ accounts in two and a half years Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, new initiatives are being continuously taken to strengthen the social security of workers and their families. Currently, workers are being provided benefits under 67 welfare schemes through the three divisions of the Labor Department. He stated that over the past two and a half years, more than ₹774 crore in aid has been transferred to workers’ accounts through DBT. The government’s effort is to ensure that a worker’s child does not limit their dreams due to circumstances, but rather receives a quality education and achieves great heights as a doctor, engineer, IAS officer, scientist, entrepreneur, or in any field of their choice. The Labor Minister stated that the scope of labor welfare schemes is being expanded to address the changing employment landscape. New schemes are also being worked on, such as assistance to parcel delivery workers to purchase vehicles and financial assistance to shepherds. Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is committed to the welfare of every section of society. Building a developed Chhattisgarh is essential to realizing the vision of a developed India, and for this, every family must be brought along on the journey of development. At the ceremony, students studying under the Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana shared their experiences. The children’s conversations reflected the joy of new opportunities, as well as the confidence to dream big for the future. Atish, a resident of Bijapur who attends Delhi Public School in Rajnandgaon, said he never imagined he would have the opportunity to study at such a prestigious school. Thanks to the Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana, he has had the opportunity to hone his talents in sports and other extracurricular activities, along with his studies. Atish also shared with the Chief Minister his dream of becoming an IAS officer and serving the state and nation. Ishika Dahare, a student from Kabirdham who attends Rungta Public School, said that she initially wasn’t confident she would be able to speak English fluently. The environment and opportunities at the new school have boosted her confidence. Parents also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and the state government, saying that it was difficult for them to educate their children in prestigious private residential schools, but this scheme has fulfilled their dreams of a better future for their children. The Chief Minister felt comfortable among the children and had a meal together. The most intimate moment of the event was witnessed when Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai sat down to eat lunch with children from working families. The Chief Minister sat comfortably among the children and interacted with them like a family member. In this interaction, which was separate from the formal program, the children also openly asked the Chief Minister questions. Some asked about the Chief Minister’s childhood, while others wanted to know about his education, favorite foods, and life’s struggles. The Chief Minister, with a smile, answered each of the children’s questions, sharing his own life experiences and inspiring them to work hard, be disciplined, and continue learning. The Chief Minister’s ease and warmth impressed the children. One child enthusiastically said, “The Chief Minister is like our good teacher. No matter how many questions we ask him, he doesn’t get nervous and answers every question.” The children said that sitting and eating with the Chief Minister, talking openly with him, and sharing their dreams was an experience they would always remember. Chief Minister Shri Sai told the children that their success would be the greatest joy for the government and their parents. They should study hard, dream big, and when they succeed in life, always remember their responsibility to society and their state. It is noteworthy that through the Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana, talented children of registered construction workers are being provided free, quality education in excellent private residential schools from grades 6th to 12th. The objective of the scheme is to ensure that economic circumstances do not limit the opportunities of talented children and to prepare them for future challenges by providing them with an excellent educational environment.
