A drug-free and healthy Chhattisgarh will lead to a developed Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai

Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the de-addiction padyatra week is being organised from September 25 to October 2.

The Chief Minister praised the padyatra being organised for de-addiction, cleanliness and environmental protection for the last 27 years.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the drug de-addiction padyatra organised from Devendra Nagar Chowk to Lal Chowk in the capital Raipur. Accompanied by a large number of school students, youth, women, public representatives and citizens, Chief Minister Shri Sai undertook the padyatra and gave the message of building a drug-free and healthy society. At the conclusion of the padyatra, Chief Minister Shri Sai paid homage to the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by garlanding his statue at Lal Chowk.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that only a drug-free and healthy Chhattisgarh will lay the strong foundation for a developed Chhattisgarh. Addiction doesn’t just affect one individual; its negative impact impacts the entire family and society. It is our collective responsibility to protect the youth, especially those affected, from addiction. He appealed to the people of the state to stay away from addiction themselves and inspire those around them to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that youth are the greatest strength of any state. If youth are healthy, educated, skilled, and channel their energy into positive pursuits, the state will progress rapidly. The state government is expanding opportunities for youth in education, skill development, employment, self-employment, sports, and entrepreneurship. Our endeavor is to ensure that every youth in Chhattisgarh utilizes their talents and abilities for the progress of their family, society, and the state.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a week-long de-addiction walk is being organized from September 25th, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, to October 2nd, the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi preached restraint, cleanliness, and a healthy life. Therefore, this de-addiction campaign is a powerful means of spreading his ideas to the masses.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has placed service at the forefront of his public life. To mark the completion of 25 years of his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, various public service activities are being organized across the country under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Through the campaign, widespread public participation is being ensured in various activities related to cleanliness, environmental protection, health, social awareness, and public service.

He said that as part of this campaign, the “Aashirwad Ka Diya” program was organized across the state, wishing Prime Minister Modi a healthy and long life. Additionally, various programs are being organized to connect youth with the spirit of service and nation-building. Bike riders from Vadnagar, Gujarat, were welcomed upon their arrival in Raipur. Youth from Bastar also enthusiastically participated in this journey.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Bastar was affected by the Naxalite problem for a long time, which hindered the pace of development there. Today, along with peace and development in the region, work is progressing rapidly to expand education, health, roads, communication, and employment opportunities. He said that connecting the youth to the mainstream of development is a priority of the government.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that investment is being encouraged through the new industrial policy to create new employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the state. Investment in modern and emerging sectors, including semiconductors and data centers, will open new doors of employment and skill development for the state’s youth. Our goal is to cultivate a young generation that, staying away from drugs, participates in building a developed Chhattisgarh through their strength, hard work, and innovation.

Chief Minister Shri Sai praised MLA Shri Purandar Mishra for organizing padayatras for the past 27 years on social issues such as drug de-addiction, tree planting, and cleanliness. He said that change in society comes not only from government efforts, but also from public participation. Only when a campaign becomes a social movement can it yield lasting and widespread results.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is heartening that thousands of people have taken the pledge to abstain from drugs, inspired by these padayatras. He expressed confidence that the De-Addiction Padayatra Week will also be a vehicle for positive change in the lives of many people, especially inspiring young people to lead healthy and purposeful lives.

Chief Minister Shri Sai urged the students and youth present to spread the message of drug de-addiction to their families, friends, and society. He said that only a healthy youth, a healthy family, and an aware society can together build a healthy, strong, and developed Chhattisgarh.
