A petition has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court against the Raisen district collector for ignoring an order from the Revenue Board. The court had summoned the collector on September 19 for a response, but he sent a written reply instead of appearing in person. Collector’s reply and court action The reply sent by the Raisen Collector stated that an appeal has been filed in the matter. Therefore, neither can the Revenue Board’s order be complied with, nor can the Collector appear in court. The High Court expressed displeasure over this reply from the Raisen Collector. Along with this, a warrant was issued against him, and he was summoned on September 22. Court appearance and resolution order On Saturday, Raisen Collector Arun Kumar Vishwakarma once again appeared in court along with Vivek Porwal, Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department. Justice Vishal Mishra’s court excused the presence of both officials and stated that the petitioners’ dispute should be resolved within 3 months. It should be noted that 62 people, including farmer Himachal Singh, a resident of Gadrawas village in Bari tehsil of Raisen district, had filed a petition in the High Court stating that 23 years ago, in December 2002, the Board of Revenue had ordered the Raisen Collector to hear the ceiling dispute over 363 acres of land, and a petition was filed in the High Court due to non-compliance with the order. The High Court had issued a bailable warrant of Rs 25,000 against the Collector of Raisen district through the DGP for his absence. In this case, the Raisen Collector had appeared before the High Court 3 times in 6 days. Currently, the High Court has ordered the resolution of the dispute within 3 months.
