The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has increased the Aadhaar update fee by up to ₹25. The new fees have been implemented from October 1 and will remain effective until September 30, 2028. After this, there will be another review, and the fees will be revised for the period from October 1, 2028, to September 30, 2031. According to the new rates, creating a new Aadhaar will remain free for everyone, but services like changing name and address, which previously cost ₹50, will now cost ₹75. Similarly, services like biometric updates, which previously cost ₹100, will now cost ₹125. Updating Aadhaar for children will remain free, as before. Furthermore, from October 1, 2028, the cost of services worth ₹75 will increase to ₹90, and the cost of the services worth ₹125 will increase to ₹150. For this, you will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center or Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Here, a fee of ₹750-125 will have to be paid to update every detail (demographic and biometric data). Mobile number will be updated only at the Aadhaar Center To update Aadhaar online, your mobile number must be updated, otherwise Aadhaar will not be updated online. The mobile number can only be updated at the Aadhaar Center. After updating the details, you will also receive a service request number. Through this, you can check when the details in your Aadhaar will be updated.
