Assault on youth sparks tensions On October 19, Kunal Singh Rajput was allegedly abducted and brutally beaten by Aseem Khan and Amil Khan. Protesters besieged the Bakal police station and blocked the bus stand, demanding the removal of Station In-Charge Rashmi Sonkar. Police intervention by the Additional Superintendent of Police temporarily ended the demonstration. Nighttime violence Around 10 PM, a group of protesters returned to the police station and attacked on-duty officers. Both Krishan Kumar Shukla and Constable Avadhesh Mishra were injured. Shukla was shifted to a private hospital in Katni, where his condition remains critical. Police response Police filed a case following Kunal Singh’s complaint. Seem Khan and Amil Khan were arrested in connection with the original assault. Officials stated that despite these arrests, some instigators incited locals to attack the station, resulting in the violent clash.
