On the last trading day of the week today ie on Friday, 24 October 2025, the Indian stock markets opened on a flat note. The Sensex declined 153.18 points to 84,343.22 in opening trade, while, the Nifty dipped 51.1 points to 25,824.30. FMCG banking stocks – among Sensex dampeners The stocks of Infosys, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Asian Paints, HUL, Tata Motors, Kotak Bank, Titan were among the major dampeners on the Sensex on Friday. Nifty Metal jumps 1.37% In the sectoral front, all the major indices barring metal, realty and oil gas traded with losses. Nifty Metal was the best performer, rising by over 1%. Shares in Asia advanced Friday India-US trade deal hopes fade away: Earlier, it was reported that India and the US may sign the first phase of the much-awaited trade deal at the sidelines of the Modi-Trump meet at the ASEAN Summit 2025. This has led to optimism in the market. However, later on, it came to light that PM Modi would virtually attend the summit, fading hopes of any imminent announcement of deal.
