Manoj Kumar Das, currently posted Additional Chief Secretary Department of Home, has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Gujarat. He is set to assume office on November 1, following the superannuation of the present Chief Secretary, Pankaj Joshi. Manoj Kumar Das, a 1990 batch IAS officer, is expected to have a tenure of over a year, as he is scheduled to retire in December 2026. A graduate in B.Tech (Hons.) in Computer Science & Engineering, he has been serving as ACS in the Chief Minister’s Office CMO, playing a key role in the state Administration. After MK Das’s appointment, a major bureaucratic reshuffle is anticipated in Gujarat. His predecessor, Pankaj Joshi, served as Chief Secretary for nine months, having taken charge on February 1. Das’s elevation to the top administrative post is expected to bring continuity and experience to the state’s governance.
