It is a moment of great pride for Chhattisgarh, as the state has successfully exported 12 metric tonnes of Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) to Costa Rica.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that this remarkable achievement not only strengthens Chhattisgarh’s presence on the global stage, but also elevates the state’s reputation in the fields of nutrition, quality, and prosperity.

He emphasized that this accomplishment is an extension of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s mission to eradicate malnutrition, a campaign that is now making a visible impact on the international level.

Chief Minister Sai further added that this success opens up new opportunities for farmers, mill operators, and exporters in the global market, while promoting value-added agricultural exports. He described it as a significant achievement in the journey toward Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and Atmanirbhar Chhattisgarh.

The Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) is enriched with essential nutrients such as iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12. This initiative not only strengthens food security, but also enhances the overall nutritional standards of society. Today, products from Chhattisgarh are emerging as symbols of nutrition in global markets.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed this export milestone as a historic step toward a self-reliant India and Chhattisgarh. He said this success reflects the hard work, quality, and dedication of the state’s farmers, mill owners, and industries.

“Today, Chhattisgarh is not just the food provider of India—it is becoming a global brand of nutrition, innovation, and quality,” he said.
“This is a proud moment that positions our state at the forefront of global trade and the national nutrition mission.”

The Chief Minister added that this achievement will not only drive economic growth, but will also give new momentum to the Prime Minister’s vision of a “Malnutrition-Free India” and “Self-Reliant India.”

It is noteworthy that Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal shared on social media that the first consignment of 12 metric tonnes of Fortified Rice Kernel from Chhattisgarh has been exported to Costa Rica. He stated that, advancing Prime Minister Modi’s mission against malnutrition, this global initiative will strengthen foreign trade while infusing new energy into India’s nutrition mission. The initiative also offers new markets, better prices, and enhanced export opportunities for farmers, mill operators, and exporters engaged in value-added agricultural production.
