On Friday evening, on Neemuch-Jawad road, Assistant Sub-Inspector Manoj Yadav’s car (HR 99 ABS Temp 1491) hit several bike riders. Dashrath (42), son of Shambhu Singh and a teacher at Gyanoday ITI College, died on the spot. In the accident, Shambhu’s 10-year-old son Harshit lost both legs, while his wife Lalita Bai (35) and 6-year-old daughter Jaya were seriously injured. Narayan Singh’s son from Athana (44) was also hurt. ASI Yadav, reportedly intoxicated at the time, has been suspended, and an FIR has been registered against him. Family protesting The family of deceased teacher Dashrath is staging a sit-in at the district hospital, refusing to take the body. They demand a government job for the wife in place of the accused ASI and compensation of Rs 1 crore.
