In a major push to promote tourism and regional connectivity, Madhya Pradesh Tourism will operate a new helicopter service connecting eight major cities, three national parks, and key religious sites starting from November 20. Indore to Omkareshwar flights will take only 25 minutes, while Bhopal to Pachmarhi trips will be reduced by five hours, taking just 40 minutes. The service will include Omkareshwar and the hill station Pachmarhi, as well as Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Satpura Tiger Reserve, and Jyotirlinga sites. The Indore–Omkareshwar fare is Rs 2,500, and the Bhopal–Pachmarhi fare is Rs 5,000. Know the complete helicopter schedule? How much fare will have to be paid?… Three sectors of helicopter service Sector 1: Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar Malwa-Nimar Belt The first phase covers Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Mandu, Maheshwar, Gandhi Sagar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Hanumantia, Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Badwani, Alirajpur, Ratlam, Jhabua, and Nalkheda. Helicopters will operate five days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday) with fares ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,500. Sector 2: Bhopal–Pachmarhi–Madai This sector covers Bhopal, Madai, Pachmarhi, Tamia, Chhindwara, Sanchi, Indore, Datia, Damoh, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Kuno, Orchha, Guna, Rajgarh, Sagar, Narmadapuram, Betul, and Tikamgarh. Direct and connecting flights will be available, with fares between Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000. Travel from Bhopal to Pachmarhi will take just 1 hour 10 minutes, and Pachmarhi to Madhei only 20 minutes. Sector 3: National parks and religious sites This includes Jabalpur, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Chitrakoot, Sarsi, Parsuli, Maihar, Satna, Panna, Khajuraho, Katni, Rewa, Singrauli, Amarkantak, Seoni, Sidhi, Mandla, Pench, and Dindori. In the first phase, flights will operate between Jabalpur, Maihar, Chitrakoot, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, and Amarkantak. Fares range from Rs 3,000 for Maihar–Chitrakoot to Rs 6,250 for Jabalpur–Kanha. Tourist experience and helicopter details Helicopters will provide tourists a unique view of Satpura’s valleys, forests, and tiger reserves. Each helicopter accommodates six passengers, ideal for families and small groups. Heliports have been prepared in Pachmarhi, Omkareshwar, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Amarkantak, Chitrakoot, and Maihar. Caution on check-in time Despite shorter flight times, passengers should account for two to three hours for check-in and boarding, making the overall travel time longer. Previous MP tourism air service The earlier PM-Shri Tourism Air Service, launched on June 13, 2024, initially received good response but failed due to low passenger numbers. Currently, limited flights operate between Bhopal, Rewa, Satna, Singrauli, and Khajuraho.
