Gold and silver prices declined once again today (November 21). According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of gold has fallen by ₹412, bringing it down to ₹1,22,149. Earlier, it was priced at ₹1,22,561 per 10 grams. Silver prices also dipped sharply today, falling by ₹2,738 to ₹1,51,375 per kilogram. Yesterday, silver was priced at ₹1,54,113 per kilogram. Gold had reached an all-time high of ₹1,30,874 on October 17, while silver hit a record high of ₹1,78,100 on October 14. Why do gold prices vary across cities? Gold rates published by IBJA do not include 3% GST, making charges, or the jeweler’s margin. These additional costs cause city-wise price differences. The RBI uses IBJA rates to determine Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) prices, and many banks also refer to these rates while setting gold loan values. Gold up by ₹46,000 and silver up by ₹65,000 this year Gold price outlook Experts predict that gold prices may continue to fluctuate. However, with the wedding season underway, demand is expected to support prices, which could push gold back towards ₹1.25 lakh per 10 grams in the coming days. Buy only certified gold Always purchase gold that carries the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) hallmark. This hallmark is an alphanumeric code (e.g., AZ4524) that confirms purity and carat value.
