Announcement of ₹5 lakh for socio-cultural activities of the Gond communityRelease of two books: “From Tribal Historical Continuity to Present Challenges” and “Respecting Heritage: Questions on the Global Perspective” Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the Gond Youth Introduction Conference organized by the Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti at Gondwana Bhavan in Tikrapara, Raipur. He was welcomed with traditional tribal rituals and began the program by offering prayers to Lord Budhadev. On this occasion, he announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the Gond community for social and cultural activities. During the program, the Chief Minister released two important books authored by Shri Vikas Markam, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plant Board—“From Tribal Historical Continuity to Present Challenges” and“Respecting Heritage: Questions on the Global Perspective.” In his address, the Chief Minister said that the history of the Gond community is extremely rich and glorious. He mentioned that the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, is highly sensitive to the welfare of tribal communities, and the proud presence of a tribal representative in the nation’s highest office is a symbol of this respect. Chief Minister Sai noted that through the PM Janman and Pradhan Mantri Dharati Abba Gram Utkarsh Yojana, extensive work is being undertaken for the holistic development of tribal communities. He added that several special initiatives have been launched for the upliftment of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to honoring the glorious history of tribal heroes. He urged people to visit the Tribal Museum established in New Raipur, saying that the museum beautifully showcases the legacy of tribal warriors who have always protected their land and culture. He also said that Tribal Pride Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, is a powerful medium to honor the heritage of the tribal society. He added that such events play an important role in bringing communities together. They help future generations stay connected with their traditions and cultural roots. Youth introduction conferences help community members understand each other and strengthen the process of building relationships. He congratulated the organizers for the successful event. On this occasion, Shri Vikas Markam shared his thoughts on the glorious history of the Gond community. He said that the community’s history is filled with rich traditions and stories of valor. He highlighted that Gond kings played a significant role in strengthening governance, administration, and social structures during historical periods—facts well-documented in historical records. Shri Markam added that under the “double-engine government,” the development and upliftment of tribal communities are being given top priority. The schemes run by the central and state governments are benefiting the tribal population on a large scale today. He called upon the community to move forward unitedly and emphasized that collective efforts empower society. Present at the event were Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti President Shri Jaggu Singh, Vice President Shri Kishor Dhruv, Shri Sewaram Dhruv, Shri Hari Singh Thakur, and many other community members.
