The Government of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday appointed acting Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta as the regular Chief Secretary of the state. The appointment orders were issued by the Personnel Department on Tuesday. The Congress-led state government elevated Sanjay Gupta to the post just four days before his retirement. He is scheduled to retire on May 31. In another administrative reshuffle, Amarjeet Singh, a 2010-batch IAS officer currently serving as Secretary, Cooperation Department, has been given the additional charge of the Town and Country Planning and Housing Department.
