Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, met with the students of class 12th of the CBSE board on Sunday. After the interaction, the LoP in a video posted on X, targeted the Centre over irregularities in the newly implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM). In the video, Rahul asked the students about their problems. He also claimed that the students had only asked some easy questions to CBSE and the Modi government, but instead of answers, they were insulted. They were called names like anti-national, spy, and terrorist. Among the students Rahul spoke to, Vedant was also included. A post by Vedant had gone viral, in which he stated that the scanned copies uploaded on the portal during re-evaluation were not his. After Vedant, many other students also made similar complaints. May 30: Rahul said, ‘The government cannot conduct an exam properly’ Earlier, Rahul had also questioned the government regarding irregularities in examinations on May 30. He wrote in a post – NEET, CBSE, SSC, and CUET. One crore children and 4 exams. Not a single one could be conducted honestly. He further said that the government claims to become a world guru, but cannot conduct a single exam in the country. The entire education system has been destroyed. The generation whose future the government is ruining, that same generation will settle the score. CBSE 12th OSM-Re-evaluation Dispute: Timeline Rahul also raised questions about the company working for OSM On May 27, Rahul Gandhi released a video and also raised questions about COEMPT, the company working for OSM. He said that the company COEMPT, which was awarded the contract for digital evaluation of exams by CBSE, was previously named Globarina. Rahul questioned why and at whose behest COEMPT was given the CBSE contract. Which rules and procedures were bypassed to give this company the contract? Why did CBSE not know that COEMPT was previously embroiled in controversies under the name Globarina? What is the relationship between COEMPT management and the Modi government?
CBSE said, ‘Rules were followed in giving the contract to the company’ However, CBSE rejected Rahul’s allegations. A statement issued by CBSE headquarters said that all General Financial Rules and prescribed procedures were followed in awarding the contract to COEMPT Edutech. The allegations are false, misleading, and not based on facts. CBSE states that this makes checking faster and more accurate, and reduces errors in adding marks or data entry. The opposite happened after the results. Students complained about the server being down, payment failure, and blurred pages. Allegations of irregularities in Telangana Board Exams against COEMPT COEMPT Edutech is a Hyderabad-based company from Telangana. This firm handles digital evaluation in states like Telangana, Karnataka, and West Bengal. In 2019, its name was Globarena Technologies Private Limited. At that time, it was accused of irregularities in data processing during the 12th board exams in Telangana. That year, more than 3 lakh out of 9.74 lakh students failed in the state.
