3 Veteran Tax Officers Get Nod For Apex Policy Body CBDT

Vatsalaa Jha To Have Longest Tenure Till 2029 As New CBDT Member

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of three senior IRS officers as Members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the apex policy-making body for direct tax administration in the country.

The newly appointed members are: 
Pallavi Agarwal, 1991-batch IRS officer 

Sunil Kumar Singh, 1992-batch IRS officer 

Vatsalaa Jha, 1992-batch IRS officer 

The appointments have been made based on recommendations by the concerned selection committee.

With this elevation, three highly experienced officers from the Income Tax Department will now steer policy and administration at the top level of direct taxes.

Vatsalaa Jha has the longest remaining service tenure and is scheduled to retire in August 2029

Pallavi Agarwal and Sunil Kumar Singh will complete their service in December 2027

The CBDT is the highest decision-making authority under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, responsible for formulating policy on direct taxes including Income Tax.
