The five-day Photo Journalist Fest saw diverse shades of nature, culture, tradition and public concerns attract attention. Photographs connect the past with the present. Sometimes they document history, and sometimes they bring forgotten moments of life back to life. A similar scene unfolded in the capital, Raipur, today, when Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai relived his long journey in public life through photographs from years past. Some recalled memories of his first term as an MLA, while others reflected a life connected to villages, fields, and the soil. A unique side of the Chief Minister was also on display during this time. He personally handled the camera and made the occasion memorable by taking a photo of a photojournalist. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the closing ceremony of the five-day photojournalist festival “Drishya Samvad 2026” organized by the Raipur Press Club on the occasion of World Photography Day. Held from August 19th, the Chief Minister visited the photo exhibition and appreciated the photographs taken by photojournalists and participants in the open category. While perusing the exhibition, Chief Minister Shri Sai’s old photographs from his political and public life brought back many memories. Viewing the old photographs, he shared many interesting anecdotes with those present. Looking at a photograph from the time he first became a legislator, the Chief Minister revealed that he had a safari suit specially tailored for him at that time. This small memory created a comfortable and cordial atmosphere among those present. The exhibition also featured photographs of Chief Minister Shri Sai related to rural life and farming. Seeing a photograph of himself plowing, he recalled his farming days. He said that the photographs of villages and farming remind him of his soil, fields, and old days. The Chief Minister also shared his experiences of rural life with the photojournalists. An interesting moment during the exhibition occurred when Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai himself took up the camera. He played the role of a photojournalist, capturing a photojournalist. This time, the Chief Minister himself was behind the camera, in front of the photojournalist who usually captures the Chief Minister’s movements and expressions. This spontaneous and intimate moment was one of the highlights of ‘Drishya Samvad 2026’. Chief Minister Shri Sai, praising the work of photojournalists, said that photographs are not just a means of recording an event or moment, but they also preserve time, society, and memories for future generations. Sometimes, a single photograph tells a complete story without words. Photojournalists, even in difficult circumstances, reach the scene and capture significant moments in society and history. Their work is an important and influential aspect of journalism. The Chief Minister praised the “Drishya Samvad 2026” organized by the Raipur Press Club, saying that such events provide a platform for the creativity of photography and photojournalism. They also provide an opportunity for the new generation to observe, understand, and learn from the work of experienced photojournalists. He congratulated and wished all the photojournalists, participants, and officials of the Raipur Press Club for the successful event.
