On the arrival of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at the ‘Rakshabandhan and Dialogue with Sisters’ programme organised here, the sisters of the area welcomed him with great enthusiasm and warmth and tied Rakhi on his wrist. Overwhelmed by the affection of the sisters, the Chief Minister had a cordial conversation with them, listened to their words and extended heartfelt greetings of Rakshabandhan to all. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Raksha Bandhan is not only a festival of brother-sister love, but also a festival of trust, respect, and a pledge of protection. When a sister ties a Rakhi on her brother’s wrist, the thread binds her with a lifelong responsibility to respect him and stand by him through thick and thin. He is fortunate to receive the love and blessings of the state’s mothers and sisters. The Chief Minister told the sisters, “It is my responsibility to maintain the love and trust you have given me. It is my duty to ensure that you and the people of this region always hold your heads high and that the benefits of development reach the last person in society.” He said that only through the respect, empowerment, and prosperity of mothers and sisters will families become strong, and strong families will build a developed Chhattisgarh. Kerasai received many gifts of development On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Chief Minister Shri Sai cordially accepted the demands of the area residents and announced several development works. He announced the construction of a new school building in place of the dilapidated primary school in Ghasimunda, beautification of Kerasai pond, a mini stadium in Kerasai, renovation of Bajrang Bali temples in Kerasai and Ghasimunda, a concrete road from the main road to Arun’s house, a community hall in Garhwamuda Yadav Basti of Gram Panchayat Kohpani, a community hall in Ghasimunda and a Mahtari Sadan in village Uparkachhar. Referring to the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of development works worth approximately ₹84.69 lakh in Kerasai, the Chief Minister said that the state government is rapidly expanding all essential infrastructure in villages, including roads, bridges, schools, and community halls. Priority is being given to the needs of rural areas in development projects, and in the future, development works will continue to be approved in accordance with the region’s needs. Chhattisgarh’s picture is changing due to women empowerment Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the government’s policies focus on respecting mothers and sisters, ensuring their economic independence and prosperity. Today, more than 1.385 million women in the state have become Lakhpati Didis. By joining self-help groups, women are not only strengthening the economic condition of their families but also revitalizing the village economy. He said that through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, approximately 6.8 million women in the state are receiving monthly financial assistance. These women are using this money to meet their small and large needs, their children’s education, and for sewing and other livelihood activities. This financial support is also strengthening women’s self-confidence and decision-making abilities. Citing the example of the Drone Sisters, the Chief Minister said that women in Chhattisgarh are now engaging with modern technology and finding new income opportunities through it. Providing 50 e-rickshaws to the sisters of Jashpur district will open new avenues for self-employment and economic independence for them. He said that the government is striving to ensure that every woman in the village has access to livelihood opportunities tailored to her interests and abilities. Bringing economic power to women strengthens both families and society. Government with farmers, poor and every needy family Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is also committed to the prosperity of farmers. Paddy is being purchased from farmers in the state at a rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal. Continuous steps are being taken to increase farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy. Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he said that a large number of pucca houses are being constructed for poor families. The government is committed to ensuring that no eligible family is deprived of basic amenities like housing. A pucca house for a poor family is not just a building, but the foundation of a safe and dignified life. Referring to the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Teerth Darshan Yojana, the Chief Minister said that the government is also providing opportunities for the people of the state to visit religious and pilgrimage sites. Members of society who were previously unable to undertake pilgrimages due to financial or other reasons are now able to visit important sites associated with their faith through these schemes. The end of Naxalism gave new impetus to development. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that effective action against Naxalism over the past two and a half years has created a new environment for development in remote and affected areas of the state. Areas that previously faced obstacles to development are now rapidly expanding infrastructure. He said that essential services like electricity, water, roads, rations, and telecommunications are now reaching formerly Naxal-affected areas. The government is continuously working on both security and development fronts. To make Chhattisgarh a developed state, the government’s priority is to connect villages, the poor, farmers, women, and youth to the mainstream of development. Health and medical education will be expanded in Jashpur Chief Minister Shri Sai said that special attention is being paid to expanding healthcare facilities in Jashpur district. Facilities related to MCH unit, physiotherapy, nursing, and health education, including a medical college, are being expanded in the district. The government’s effort is to ensure that the people of the district do not have to travel far for better healthcare services and that quality medical facilities are available locally. Beneficiaries received benefits of the schemes At the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai distributed benefits to beneficiaries of various schemes. Under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, a passbook was presented to the girl child Ayushi. Under the Swamitva Yojana, residential leases were distributed to Kaushalya Pankra, Kamala Bai, Lalo, Jyoti Bai, and Sumertha Khairwar. The Chief Minister also presented a cheque for one lakh rupees to the Saraswati Self-Help Group. Interacting with the women of the group, he encouraged them to pursue economic activities and continue striving towards self-reliance. Pathalgaon MLA Smt.
