Russian military aircraft land in India ahead of Putin’s visit:Advance team, military officials arrive at Noida Airport

Three Russian military aircraft have landed at Noida International Airport ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India. One of them is Russia’s heavy military transport aircraft, the IL-76. A Russian advance team and military officials arrived in India on these aircraft. All three aircraft landed at Noida Airport at around 5:30 am on Tuesday. They remained parked at the airport on Wednesday as well. The Russian team, along with the airport security team, is monitoring the aircraft and security arrangements. This is the first time a foreign aircraft has landed at Noida International Airport. Earlier, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport was used for foreign military and VIP aircraft. Team arrives to review preparations Before the visit of a major foreign leader, an advance team reviews preparations at the airport, security arrangements and VIP movement. The Russian team has come to India for this purpose. It has not yet been officially confirmed whether Putin’s aircraft will also land at Noida Airport. Reports suggest that this is a possibility. What is the IL-76? The IL-76 is a Russian heavy military transport aircraft. It is used to carry troops, military supplies and other heavy equipment from one place to another. Such aircraft can be used to transport essential supplies and officials ahead of a major military or VVIP visit. The Russian team that arrived at Noida Airport is also preparing security and other arrangements ahead of Putin’s visit. Putin’s Key Meeting with Modi Putin will arrive in India on Friday. He will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the BRICS summit. Their discussions may cover issues including defence, Su-57 fighter jets, the S-400, Russian oil, nuclear energy, and trade in rupees and roubles. In the defence sector, Russia’s proposal for the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter has attracted the most attention. Along with offering the aircraft to India, Russia has proposed producing it in India and cooperating on technology. ​
