On the occasion of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s birthday, BJP workers and public representatives celebrated ‘Deep Utsav’ under the programme ‘Ek Diya Seva Ke Naam’ at Kila Chowk, Datia on Thursday night. Former Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh and senior BJP leader Dr. Narottam Mishra joined the programme as the Chief Guest and lit ceremonial lamps along with party workers and the general public. Similar lamp-lighting programmes were organized across the country on the Prime Minister’s birthday. On this occasion, Dr. Mishra highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s works related to public service and welfare of the poor, stating that every particle and every moment of Modi’s life has been dedicated to the nation, the poor and the villages. He said that more than four crore pucca houses have been provided to the poor, along with tap water and electrification in villages. Dr. Mishra also mentioned landmark decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, granting Union Territory status to Ladakh, and the construction of Lord Shri Ram Temple. During the Deep Utsav, Kila Chowk was illuminated with the glow of thousands of lamps, and a large number of party workers and citizens participated enthusiastically in the programme.
