The Election Commission has sent notices to Delhi voters over discrepancies in the information submitted in their Enumeration Forms under the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) process. The names include Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and several other prominent leaders. However, Rekha Gupta’s voter entry has been validated. Her name will now be included in the final voter list of the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency. The list will be released on November 4. Kejriwal received a notice because his voter record in the New Delhi Assembly constituency could not be linked to the previous SIR. His wife Sunita, parents and son have also received notices. Besides them, former Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal and BJP leader Sudhanshu Mittal have also received notices. Discrepancies found in forms of over 33 lakh voters According to the Delhi CEO’s office, 33.13 lakh voters included in the draft voter list will be sent notices over discrepancies in their Enumeration Forms. So far, 31.63 lakh voters have received notices. The Delhi CEO’s office provided this information on Saturday. Rekha Gupta’s entry was included in the list of logical discrepancies. According to officials, the Chief Minister received the notice over an age-related discrepancy. Her entry was validated after verification. Every voter in Delhi was required to submit a filled-in form during the door-to-door verification exercise conducted from June 30 to August 17. Officials said most notices were issued because records from the previous Special Intensive Revision, conducted in 2002, could not be found.
