A major accident was avoided late Sunday night on the city bypass. A petrol-filled tanker overturned near Teja Ji Nagar police station after the driver lost control. No one was injured in the accident. Police have filed a case against the driver, Sanju, for negligent driving and have taken him into custody. TI Devendra Markam informed that around 1 AM, a message was received on the wireless set that a Bharat Petroleum tanker (number MP09-AL-7063) had overturned near Nayta Mundla. When the police reached the spot, driver Sanju, son of Mansingh Banjara, resident of Khariya, Dewas, was present near the tanker. He stated during interrogation that he was going to Harda with petrol from Mangalia depot. During this, due to potholes on the bypass, the vehicle lost its balance and the tanker overturned. Leakage check by mechanic Due to the tanker overturning, petrol had spread on the road. It had filled the road and nearby potholes. This could have led to a major accident. The police sealed the entire area in time to prevent a fire-like situation and called a mechanic to check the tanker’s leakage. Tanker straightened with a crane To prevent traffic jam-like situations on the road after the accident, the police called a crane at night and straightened the tanker.
