Indian women’s cricket world champion Kranti Gaud returned to her hometown, Ghuwara in Chhatarpur district late Friday night, receiving a celebration reminiscent of Diwali. She rode atop a car, greeting her fans along the route while people showered her with flowers and chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” Before reaching Ghuwara, she visited the Chauparia Government Temple, where she paid her respects to Lord Hanuman. Celebrations turn chaotic at Tulaadan event Upon arrival in Ghuwara, a Tulaadan ceremony was organized at the house of the Municipal Council President’s representative, Abhay Pratap Singh. The enthusiastic crowd grew uncontrollable, creating a stampede-like situation, and Kranti was pushed amidst the crowd. Locals stepped forward to help her exit safely, while police had to repeatedly manage the crowd. Diwali-like festivities at home Late at night, Kranti reached her home, where the atmosphere resembled a Diwali festival with drums, fireworks, and flower showers. Her house was decorated with flowers, and her family distributed 400 kg of sweets (Laddus) to celebrate her victory. Her father expressed immense pride in his daughter’s achievements.
