A massive traffic jam on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway in Barwani has stretched beyond 15 hours, leaving vehicles crawling along three-kilometre queues on both the Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh sides of Bijasan Ghat in Sendhwa. Notably, the gridlock began on Thursday afternoon after a container collided with a pickup and a truck, injuring three people. Police teams from the outpost and two stations reached the spot and cleared damaged vehicles with a crane. See pictures of the traffic jam… Vehicles coming from wrong side Traffic movement had resumed after removing damaged vehicles from the accident, but many vehicles started moving from the wrong side. Due to this, the jam kept increasing. Throughout night, vehicles moved forward slowly. The same situation continues on Friday morning. Only two police personnel are deployed at the spot to control the traffic jam situation, who have been trying to manage traffic flow since night. Most of the police force from Bijasan outpost has gone to Pansemal for Chief Minister’s duty, due to which only one head constable and one constable are present here. Some highway maintenance staff are also helping. Along with trucks, many passenger buses and small vehicles are also stuck in this massive jam, causing severe inconvenience to passengers. Even by 8 am on Friday morning, there was no significant improvement in the situation.
