Guided by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, coordinated operations have significantly reduced Naxal violence, and Naxalism is now in its “final phase.” He said this is a major achievement for development, investment, and peace in rural areas. He praised the efforts of the current Chhattisgarh government, stating that the state is now rapidly returning to the mainstream of development. He said that due to corruption and commission-seeking practices in previous years, many central schemes were not effectively implemented, but now benefits are reaching eligible farmers, villagers, and women directly. The program saw participation from thousands of farmers and rural citizens. Beneficiaries received approval letters, agriculture kits, equipment, and other items. An exhibition on agricultural technology, rural infrastructure, women’s self-help groups, PMGSY, and Atmanirbhar Bharat was also organized, drawing enthusiastic participation. Shri Chouhan mentioned the completion of 25 years since the formation of Chhattisgarh and acknowledged the achievements of the state established by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that the central and state governments are committed to placing Chhattisgarh among the leading states of the country. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s Address Chief Minister Sai focused on increasing farmers’ income, agricultural technology expansion, irrigation capacity, organic farming, and the Millet Mission. He said honoring and empowering farmers is the government’s foremost priority. He shared that 24,70,640 farmers in the state received the latest PM-Kisan installment released today by Prime Minister Modi. A total of ₹494 crore was transferred directly to the accounts of farmers, forest land leaseholders, and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). The government has added 2.75 lakh new farmers to the scheme. Chhattisgarh leading in paddy procurement CM Sai said that paddy procurement in the state has been strengthened to be more farmer-friendly. The government is procuring paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal and has allowed farmers to sell up to 21 quintals per acre. He noted that this year the procurement of 149 lakh metric tonnes reflects farmers’ trust. He compared this with the early years of Chhattisgarh, when only 5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy were procured. Expansion of Krishak Unnati Yojana The CM said that the scheme has been expanded to include pulses, oilseeds, and maize, enabling farmers growing these crops to receive the full benefits. Even tenant farmers, sharecroppers, leasehold farmers, and farmers in submerged areas will now receive benefits, strengthening agriculture-based livelihoods. He added that ₹1.25 lakh crore has been transferred into farmers’ accounts over the past 22 months through various schemes. Within two weeks of taking office, the government distributed ₹3,716 crore as bonuses to 13 lakh farmers. He said that due to the importance given by Prime Minister Modi to the Millet Mission, traditional crops like kodo-kutki and ragi have greatly benefited. He cited the example of the “JashPure” brand products made by women’s self-help groups in Jashpur, noting that products like Mahua laddoos and kodo-kutki-based items are gaining national popularity. The CM said Chhattisgarh has immense potential for organic farming because tribal regions have minimal chemical fertilizer use. He noted that ₹2,800 crore has been approved for 115 irrigation projects pending since 2015, which will benefit lakhs of farmers. He added that GST reduction has boosted the purchase of tractors and farm machinery, improving farmers’ purchasing power. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to farmers and a renewed commitment to sustaining agricultural and rural development in Chhattisgarh.
