Dewas police have taken strict action in the suicide case of the International Jujutsu player Rohini Kalam. A case of abetment to suicide was registered against the deceased’s coach, Vijendra Kharsodia, and Madhya Pradesh Jujutsu Association Vice-President, Pritam Singh, on Wednesday. Police arrested Vice-President Singh and sent him to jail, while Coach Kharsodia is currently absconding. Rohini died by suicide on October 26, after hanging herself at her home. Coach Kharsodia allegedly pressured Rohini to compete despite her illness and refused to let her rest, while Vice-President Singh reportedly restricted her from talking to anyone. Case registered under SC/ST Act and BNS sections Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 108, 3(5) BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and 3(2)(v) SC/ST Act. According to the law, if it is proven that the accused instigated her to commit suicide, they could face imprisonment up to ten years and a fine. Hanged herself at home on October 26 According to information, on October 26, Rohini’s younger sister, Roshni Kalam, found her hanging in a room at their residence in Arjun Nagar Radhaganj. The door was broken down and she was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Parents were not at home at the time of the incident.
