₹5-Cr Defamation Row: Veer Bharat Nyas Secretary Shriram Tiwari Sends Legal Notice to Cong Leader Jitu Patwari Shriram Tiwari, Secretary of the Veer Bharat Nyas and Cultural Advisor to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, officially served a ₹5 crore defamation notice to MP Congress Chief Jitu Patwari. The legal notice demands that Patwari issue a public apology and clarification through the media within three days. If Patwari fails to comply, Tiwari’s legal team has stated they will initiate formal criminal and civil court proceedings. Shriram Tiwari’s senior counsels, Harish Mehta and Gunjan Choukse, stated that the Veer Bharat Nyas is not a private entity but a fully government-registered trust established in 2012. The sitting Chief Minister serves as its ex-officio chairman, and its operations are completely institutional. Shriram Tiwari’s team argues that Patwari’s unsubstantiated statements were made maliciously to damage Tiwari’s public reputation. They announced that any financial damages recovered from the ₹5 crore lawsuit will be fully donated to an NGO. The allegation backfired politically after veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh publicly refuted Patwari’s claims. Singh presented documents showing that the Veer Bharat Nyas is entirely a government body, stating he does not speak without proper research. Singh’s public “fact-check” dismantled Patwari’s core accusation, triggering significant internal friction and public damage control within the Madhya Pradesh Congress leadership.
