Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is continuously working towards providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing to every needy family in the state. In this regard, Chief Minister Shri Sai’s home district, Jashpur, has received two significant gifts in the field of residential development. Under the Atal Vihar Yojana, the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board will develop two modern residential colonies in the village of Ginabahar in the Kunkuri development block and the village of Balachhapar in the Jashpur city at a cost of approximately ₹51 crore 48 lakh. A total of 225 houses are proposed to be constructed through these two projects. These schemes will accelerate planned residential development in the district and provide new opportunities for families from various income groups to own their own homes.
These projects are being implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the specific instructions of Housing and Environment Minister and Minister in-charge of Jashpur district, Shri O.P. Choudhary. The state government’s priority is to ensure that housing development is not limited to major cities, but also to the expansion of modern and well-organized housing facilities at district headquarters, smaller towns, and even at the block level. To this end, the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board is working to expand housing schemes in all 33 districts of the state.
“Modern housing facilities reaching small towns due to Chief Minister Sai’s initiative,”
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has given top priority to the expansion of housing facilities in the state, emphasizing the development of housing schemes tailored to the needs of citizens in all 33 districts. In line with this vision, new housing projects are being implemented in Jashpur district under the Atal Vihar Yojana. The objective of these projects is not merely to construct houses, but to develop well-organized residential complexes where citizens can access a safe environment, better roads, sanitation, greenery, and essential amenities of daily life all in one place. The
implementation of these schemes in Jashpur district will particularly benefit middle-income, low-income, and economically weaker families. Besides, the expansion of housing infrastructure in the district is also expected to boost local economic activities, construction sector and employment opportunities.
‘Housing projects gain momentum due to special efforts of Housing Minister Shri OP Choudhary’
On the special instructions of Housing and Environment Minister and Minister in charge of Jashpur district Shri OP Choudhary, Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board is paying special attention to the expansion of housing projects in the district and their effective implementation. Shri Choudhary has stressed on giving priority to quality, transparency, timely construction and civic amenities in housing schemes.
Under the guidance of Minister Shri Chaudhary, the Board is promoting housing projects that, while being in line with the economic capabilities of ordinary citizens, also meet the needs of modern urban planning and a better standard of living. The proposed colonies in Jashpur and Kunkuri are important initiatives in this direction. These projects will pave the way for systematic residential development in the district, providing citizens with a residential environment equipped with modern amenities.
“The first modern residential colony to be built in Ginabahar, Kunkuri, at a cost of ₹17.15 crore”
Under the Atal Vihar Yojana, the region’s first modern and well-organized residential colony will be developed on approximately 7 acres of land in Ginabahar village of Kunkuri development block. Administrative approval of ₹17 crore 15 lakh 71 thousand has been granted for this project. A total of 97 houses will be constructed under the scheme, of which 91 are reserved for economically weaker section (EWS) and low income group (LIG) families.
The highlight of this project is that the state government has provided land to the Board for the housing scheme at a rate of just one rupee per square foot. This will encourage the construction of affordable housing. Under the scheme, eligible EWS beneficiaries will be provided a grant of Rs. 80,000 and LIG beneficiaries will be provided a grant of Rs. 40,000. This will ease the financial burden of housing for families with limited incomes.
Located approximately 2 kilometers from National Highway 43 on the Kunkuri-Bagichi Road, this project will develop well-maintained internal roads, security systems, green spaces, drainage, and other essential infrastructure. This colony will become a new hub for planned residential development in the Kunkuri area.
“128 houses to be built in Balachhapar, Jashpur at a cost of Rs. 34.32 crore; the complex will be equipped with modern amenities.”
The second major housing project will be developed on approximately 7 acres of land under the Atal Vihar Yojana in Balachhapar village of Jashpur city. Administrative approval for this project has been received for ₹34 crore, 32 lakh, 25 thousand rupees. Under this scheme, construction of a total of 128 houses for different income groups, along with commercial shops, is proposed.
The scheme includes 11 houses for the high income group (HIG), 20 for the middle income group (MIG), 4 for the junior MIG, 55 for the low income group (LIG), and 38 for the economically weaker section (EWS). The project thus addresses the housing needs of various economic segments of society.
This residential colony in Balachhapar will be developed just 200 meters from National Highway No. 43 on Raigarh Road. It will be designed as a modern covered campus, featuring amenities such as a bus stop, a community hall, box cricket, an attractive garden, a children’s play area, and commercial shops. These facilities will provide residents with a comfortable living environment for recreation, social activities, and daily needs.
Mr. Anurag Singh Deo, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board, stated that under the guidance of the Chief Minister and the directives of Housing and Environment Minister Mr. O.P. Choudhary, the Board is expanding affordable and quality housing schemes in the state. He stated that the Board’s objective is not limited to housing construction, but rather to providing citizens with a well-organized and safe residential environment with all the necessary amenities. The colonies being developed in Jashpur and Kunkuri will focus on modern infrastructure, wide and well-maintained roads, a clean environment, green spaces, and essential civic amenities.
Mr. Singh Deo explained that the housing plans for these projects have been designed keeping in mind the needs of different income groups. Providing affordable housing, especially to economically weaker and lower-income families, is a key priority for the Board.
“Preparations are underway to expand housing schemes in Mahuatoli, Kadora, and Pathalgaon.”
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, further projects are underway to expand housing facilities in Jashpur district. Under this scheme, housing schemes are being implemented in Mahuatoli, Kadora, and Madanpur village of Pathalgaon development block in Jashpur. These schemes will also provide citizens in other areas of the district with opportunities to access systematic and affordable housing.
Mr. Prafulla Choure, Executive Engineer of Chhattisgarh Housing and Infrastructure Development Board in Jashpur, stated that bookings are also underway for the housing scheme in Madanpur and Pathalgaon villages. The booking process for the respective housing schemes began on October 6, 2026, and the deadline for the first round is October 20, 2026.
“A new chapter is being added to Jashpur’s residential development.”
Housing development in Jashpur district is taking a new direction. These two projects, being developed on approximately 14 acres of land in Kunkuri and Jashpur, will provide 225 families with the opportunity to acquire homes equipped with modern residential amenities.
The implementation of these projects under the Atal Vihar Yojana (Attal Vihar Yojana) is an important step towards systematic urban development, improved civic amenities, and affordable housing in the district. This will strengthen the housing infrastructure in Jashpur district and help ordinary citizens realize their dream of owning a home.
